چکیده

Abstract The article presents an investigation of the stabilization a cantilever pipe discharging fluid using electromagnetic actuators transformer type. With flow velocity reaching critical value, straight equilibrium position becomes unstable, and self-excited lateral vibrations arise. Supplying voltage to yields two opposite effects. First, each attracts pipe, thus introduces effect negative stiffness which destabilizes middle equilibrium. Second, change gap in magnetic circuits actuators, leads oscillations field cores phenomena induction hysteresis that impede motion pipe. combination these non-linear effects is ambiguous, so problem explored both theoretically experimentally. mathematical model system form partial differential equation governing dynamics coupled with ordinary equations electro-magnetodynamics presented. Then, pipe’s discretized Galerkin procedure, resultant set solved numerically. It has been shown overall action positive: increased amplitude post-critical reduced. These results have validated experimentally on test stand.

Stabilization of Electrostatically Actuated Micro-pipe Conveying Fluid Using Parametric Excitation

This paper investigates the parametric excitation of a micro-pipe conveying fluid suspended between two symmetric electrodes. Electrostatically actuated micro-pipes may become unstable when the exciting voltage is greater than the pull-in value. It is demonstrated that the parametric excitation of a micro-pipe by periodic (ac) voltages may have a stabilizing effect and permit an increase of the...

On stability of a clamped-pinned pipe conveying fluid

In the past, stability of an undamped clamped-pinned pipe conveying fluid has been always considered numerically leading to controversial results. Païdoussis (2004) has shown that a numerical stability analysis of a clamped-pinned pipe requires exceptionally large number of vibration modes to obtain the correct dynamical behaviour. In this paper, analytical proof of stability of a clamped-pinne...

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Dynamical stability of cantilevered pipe conveying fluid in the presence of linear dynamic vibration absorber

When the velocity of fluid flow in a cantilevered pipe is successively increased, the system may become unstable and flutter instability would occur at a critical flow velocity. This paper is concerned with exploring the dynamical stability of a cantilevered fluid-conveying pipe with an additional linear dynamic vibration absorber (DVA) attachment. It is endeavoured to show that the stability o...
